There are a number of ways you can get involved and contribute to our work -

Organise an event

Get in touch if you think you’d like to organise a fundraising event, and we’ll support you all we can – giving@manchesteractionforchildren.org

Past events have included 

•  an initial fundraising launch in May 2010, where over £4,000 was raised from a range of private and corporate donors
•  a Bonfire Night fundraising dinner at Etrop Grange Hotel in Manchester which raised £1,600
•  a coffee morning organised and hosted by friends of MAC, which raised £480
•  a sponsored hike across Jordan which raised over £5,000
•  a sponsored dinner party held by a group of neighbours, which raised £575
•  a homemade lemonade street sale organised by local children, raising £72

Fundraise
Many people have taken part in personally challenging events, at the same time raising funds for vulnerable children living in the Zambian Copperbelt. Examples are:

• a sponsored climb of Kilimanjaro
• a sponsored trek across Jordan
• a sponsored diet
• sponsored marathons in Canada, Madrid and Manchester
• a sponsored retirement party
• a sponsored swim

Volunteer

Everyone currently involved in MAC is a volunteer, and we’d love to have more. Volunteers can get involved in a number of ways –

• Become a Trustee: The Trustees develop and oversee the governance and strategy of the charity. They meet four times a year. We’re currently looking for a Trustee with experience in marketing and a Trustee with Zambian connections.
• Join the Development Team: The Development Team looks after the implementation of strategy and the day-to-day running of MAC’s activities. We’re always on the lookout for new members with skills and experience to complement those of current team members, particularly in the areas of administration, marketing and communications. The team meets once a month in South Manchester. If you’re interested in joining us, please write to giving@manchesteractionforchildren.org
• Give Fundraising support: we welcome any offers of help to support our fundraising activities – social and sporting events, personal and group activities etc.
• Give Marketing and PR support: volunteers with skills and experience in both these areas are sought.
